Visiting and Guest Students

Enrollment

The German International School of Silicon Valley welcomes visitors, such as prospective parents & students, professional educators, and alumni. The safety of our children and the quality of instruction are our priority. Therefore, we have developed the following visitor guidelines.

Visiting Students

Visiting Students may attend GISSV classes for a fee of $100 per school day, but this can only be done for a maximum of 10 school days. Visiting students are required to submit a visitation request 30 days in advance to obtain the permission of the Administration. Visits to GISSV that extend beyond 10 days must receive prior authorization. Failure to obtain this authorization will result in the visit being considered enrollment at GISSV. By the first day of the visit, visiting students must also present a signed Limited Enrollment Contract, a signed Emergency Form, an up-to-date Certificate of Immunization Status, and payment in full. If the student is then enrolled full time the amount of the fee will be applied to tuition. Please note that visiting students are not permitted to visit during the first 2 weeks of the school year or the last 2 weeks of the school year. Nevertheless, a former GISSV student may visit for a maximum of 1 day during this time period. Only one visiting student is allowed per homeroom class on any given school day.

Guest Students

Guest students must fulfill the same enrollment requirements as regular students at GISSV.

  1. For students who are not U.S. residents, a student visa is mandatory. Guest students must pay their tuition in full at the time of enrollment. Tuition will be prorated, however annual will not.

  2. All regular enrollment documents are required.

Former GISSV Students

Former GISSV students may visit GISSV for an entire class day, free of charge, once per semester. (Visits beyond one day per semester will be billed the same as visiting students) Students must be age-appropriate to the classroom, must possess adequate German language abilities, and must have the permission of the Head of School or designee at least one week in advance of the visit. Student parents must submit a signed Student Information Form prior to the visit.
